New Mortal Kombat game on PS4, Xbox One

By Alan Ng - Apr 25, 2014

An update of Mortal Kombat (2011) launched in 2012, called Mortal Kombat: Komplete Edition and this was the last release, but now that PS4 and Xbox One are here some fans want more from the franchise.

The Komplete Edition came with all of the included DLC from the reboot of course, but now fans are expecting to see more from NetherRealm Studios with regards to a new Mortal Kombat game for PS4 and Xbox One.

Mortal Kombat 2014 now looks unlikely, but this week we want to remind you of some strong evidence that a new Mortal Kombat game in 2015 may be a good possibility.

Actor Kiefer Sutherland has given a recent interview, confirming that he has done voice work for a Mortal Kombat game – a game, which obviously has not been officially confirmed yet.

NetherRealm and co-creator Ed Boon are remaining completely silent on the next game, leading us to believe that it could be one of the planned announcements at this year’s E3 2014 festivities.

PS4 owners can play Injustice Gods Among Us: Ultimate Edition from NetherRealm Studios for the time being, but we think we speak on behalf of most in saying that we really want to see a new Mortal Kombat game on PS4 instead.

Kiefer Sutherland is obviously not lying, so something has to budge soon. What character could he possibly be voicing, dare we throw Shinnok’s name out there?

Both the PS4 and Xbox One are in need of some new fighting games as well to boost the genre, so let’s hope that we get the confirmation soon. If you have been waiting to see Mortal Kombat on PS4 and Xbox One, give us your theories and ideas so far for the game.
