New Mortal Kombat game on PS4, Xbox One

By Alan Ng - Apr 25, 2014

An update of Mortal Kombat (2011) launched in 2012, called Mortal Kombat: Komplete Edition and this was the last release, but now that PS4 and Xbox One are here some fans want more from the franchise.

The Komplete Edition came with all of the included DLC from the reboot of course, but now fans are expecting to see more from NetherRealm Studios with regards to a new Mortal Kombat game for PS4 and Xbox One.

Mortal Kombat 2014 now looks unlikely, but this week we want to remind you of some strong evidence that a new Mortal Kombat game in 2015 may be a good possibility.

Actor Kiefer Sutherland has given a recent interview, confirming that he has done voice work for a Mortal Kombat game – a game, which obviously has not been officially confirmed yet.

NetherRealm and co-creator Ed Boon are remaining completely silent on the next game, leading us to believe that it could be one of the planned announcements at this year’s E3 2014 festivities.

PS4 owners can play Injustice Gods Among Us: Ultimate Edition from NetherRealm Studios for the time being, but we think we speak on behalf of most in saying that we really want to see a new Mortal Kombat game on PS4 instead.

Kiefer Sutherland is obviously not lying, so something has to budge soon. What character could he possibly be voicing, dare we throw Shinnok’s name out there?

Both the PS4 and Xbox One are in need of some new fighting games as well to boost the genre, so let’s hope that we get the confirmation soon. If you have been waiting to see Mortal Kombat on PS4 and Xbox One, give us your theories and ideas so far for the game.

i want the new mortal kombat to have more secrets hiden unlockable fatalities and brutalities and the game have a konquest mode like MK deception (i have a good nostolgy about this game playing many hours from night till morning!). dont add a lot of characters but instead work on combos and fluidity of the engine. work on graphics and let it be just for MK fonds, ببینیم چیکار می کنید!!

It’s time to go back to the roots where it all started but only this time better graphics, better combos, better fatalities, better stage fatalities, etc! Everybody’s hung up on call of duty and games just like that. I think right now is the time for mortal kombat to explode back into the new era of gaming! I just want to add that the first mortal kombat had this blood sport type feel to it! Like you were at a real kumite!

The new mortal kombat needs some hard hitting combos not juggle combos I’m talking like combos that end with them using a special just like on killer instinct! The fatalities need to have a lot more thought to them! I also think a nice looking brutality finisher would be awesome! Back when the first mortal kombat came out the characters looked more real this is what I want to see and there clothes were simple, not like all these costumes you see now! Example: Lui Kang should have his shirt off and look ripped like Bruce Lee, Raiden should look like the guy on big trouble in little china with electricity flowing all over his body! Those are just two of my own suggestions I have plenty more to make the ultimate mortal kombat game that every fan would just go crazy for! I even thought of a finisher for sub zero: do you all remember how on the matrix mr. Smith the agent would stick his hand in people’s chest then change, but instead subzero will put them in a hard freeze!

If you guys can the brutality and more characters, it would be more fun to play. And please Raiden should be made more stronger because for me shal khan was way much stronger than him. A thunder God for that matter, please do something about it.

Make the combo system more simple : each character have many different combo combinations… too much to remember. I would like to play more character, but it’s too complicated of the combo system.

fatalities combination : does it necessary each character have different combinations!?
make it simple : fatality one : down forward down forward HP, fatality two : down forward down forward LP.

“Scorpion” is in Injustice Gods Among Us Ultimate Edition for PS4. Still no fightstick compatible for the PS4 though.

What I want from MK10 is Animalities, Brutalities, Friendships, more Stage Fatalities, even crazier standard fatalities than MK9, a bigger roster of characters, a much bigger crypt for unlockables(I felt like I unlocked all of MK9’s crypt far too quickly and was disappointed that there was nothing like the ”cooking with scorpion” video there), more secrets, and don’t list all of the secrets in the trophy/achievement list this time, it cheapens them. I also feel like the fighting engine should be smoother and more fluid. Excited as hell for this though 🙂

The more I see these types of articles, the more and more excited I get. I expect MK10 to be announced at E3 2014. Bring on MK!!
