By Peter Chubb - Mar 28, 2014

Football fans are always looking for the best and easiest way to get results, and so we thought we would look at a few offerings. Considering most of us carry a mobile device we thought we would take a look at a few football results app offerings, and see what has been improved with the apps over previous versions.

Throughout the football season changes are being made to apps in order to deliver relevant updates, and while new ones are also released, they don’t usually offer the same sort of quality as the tried and tested apps.

Ideal Football results app for Android – If there is one app that you need to have installed on your Android device it would be Sky Sports Live Football SC, as it offers far more than just up-to-date football results. This app might have only been updated back in May of last year, but it offers far more than most other football result apps, such as live scores and text commentary, player profiles and so much more.

If you were on the lookout for the most recently updated app, then that would be Soccer/Football Live Scores. This was last updated on March 14, 2014, and includes a host of updated features, which comprises of now being ad-free, team and player profiles, push notifications for scoring teams, along with those all important match results.

Football Live Scores app

The final football results app for Android would have to be Football Scores Live. First and foremost, this app delivers live scores; push alerts, and detailed stats for live and historical matches and much more. It is worth noting that these apps are all free.

Football result apps for iPhone and iPad – Like Android, we have to point you in the direction of the Sky Sports app, although this is the app that covers all sports, This means that you can check the latest football results, as well as look at what is going on in the world of Formula 1, Tennis, Cricket etc.

Live Football by SportyTrader is a good all-rounder because it delivers updates on live scores for national and international football. This app is less cluttered than many others on the App Store, and what’s more, you will receive live goal and results alerts.

The Football App is another great choice and is said to be the most comprehensive football app out there. While we find this hard to believe, we can say that we like how you are able to interact with other users by chatting to them about football.

THE Football App

The final Football results app for iPhone and iPad is the BBC Sport app, which is a great alternative to the Sky Sports app above. When you click on the football tab you can then have the option of three other tabs, live scores, results and fixtures. There are more options in the drop down, but the three mentioned take precedence.

There you have it, a selection of Android and iOS apps to help keep you fully abreast of the latest football results and other news related to the most popular sport in the world.
