Samsung has given some more details on the release dates and prices of their Ultra-HD TVs unveiled at CES earlier this year. A variety of different models were showcased back in January but the cost and arrival had been largely kept quiet until now; this army of Samsung UHD TVs are coming in many sizes and prices in 2014.
There was a generally mixed reaction to Samsung’s line of curved models, with some branding it gimmicky and overkill despite the undeniably beautiful design. We have seen a huge beast of a 105 inch UHD curved model unveiled but we will focus on the more realistic TVs coming to market. The U9000 line will bring 55, 65 and 75 inch options priced at $4000, 5000 and $8000 which are in some ways more reasonable than anticipated.
The H8000 Curved 1080p LED TV is also one of Samsung’s finest for 2014 and will go on sale this spring, more affordable too. The H800 line will come in 3 different sizes, 46, 55 and 65 inches with price tags of $2000, $2500 and $3400. If curved is not your style then there is a flat UHD option in the U8550 line which will come in 50, 55, 65 and 75 inches in May, costing $2500, $3000, $3500 and $6000.
Samsung featured many of these TVs at an exhibition in New York, Digital Trends has detailed some more of the HD models they showcased and provided information on. Exact release dates were not given but we know that the majority of these models will ship in and around May.
This should also be a big year for Samsung with their 4K models, the high costs have so far prevented consumers to respond in masses with only about 1% of TV owners possessing a 4K model. Will you be buying a new TV from Samsung’s lineup this year?
