By Matt Tran - Mar 13, 2014

Sony has now released its live update for the PlayStation Store in North America, despite being delayed by roughly 48 hours. The roll out was planned for Tuesday but Sony confirmed via Twitter earlier in the week the update would happen on Wednesday, eventually it finally arrived on Thursday but better late than never!

The big US PS Store update has added pre-order availability for a number of games and also more downloadable titles to the digital shelf. Players on the PS3 can now order their digital version of Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes for the special price of $19.99, in addition to MLB 14: The Show which can be purchased for $59.99 with a Call of Duty promotion is available to celebrate.

Players who have downloaded the new version of the PlayStation Store will be able to download Towerfall Ascension for $14.99. New digital PS3 games have also been added for purchase, namely Dark Souls 2 for the premium price of $59.99, Atelier Escha & Logy Alchemists of the Dusk Sky for $49.99 and Vessel for the more modest cost of $9.99.

I just did the math and added up what it would cost if you bought all the free games you can download right now free through PS+. It came out to $498.99 worth of games for $50. This is across PS3/PS4/PS Vita. Sony needs to market PS+ ALOT more. Mind you, this is cheaper than it should be. Sony apparently is discounting their digital titles like crazy. To buy Uncharted for the vita is under $17 now, I paid $40. The games offered aren’t crap either. Games like Tomb Raider, Payday 2, Uncharted, Bioshock Infinite, Borderlands 2 etc.
