While many PS4 owners are getting stuck into games like Thief at the moment, it appears that one feature of the PS4 interface is not working as fluently as it should. Complaints have come in, suggesting that there appears to PS4 Party chat problems, specifically linked to a PS4 E-82204301 error message that users have been getting.
Party Chat is obviously a massive feature that was missing on the PS3. The ability to finally chat with up to 8 other PS4 users regardless of what game they are playing is a great feature – as long as it works.
As far as we’re aware, this problem has been running wild over the weekend and we hoped that it would be fixed before the start of a new week.
However, we can confirm that PS4 Party Chat is still down at the time of writing. Heading into the app on PS4 will welcome you with the PS4 E-82204301 code, along with the message ‘an error has occurred’, everytime you try to connect to the service.
@yosp Any comment on the error code that is affecting the global PS4 community (E-82204301) by not allowing chat? Isnt this a paid service?

As you can see from the Tweet above, some PS4 owners are not happy that Sony hasn’t fixed it yet, especially when most are now paying to use PS4 online services.
Let’s hope that Sony have the Party Chat fixed up as soon as possible. Let us know if you have been able to access Party Chat in your area. Have you been seeing the same error code each time?
