Consumer electronics makers have two options for wearable devices around the wrist, smartwatches and fitness trackers. There is a strong market for both and so Sony’s SmartBand is just another of the many already on the market. Sony has gone down the fitness tracker route to help keep the wearer on top of their fitness programs.
You will need to use Sony’s Lifelog app to get the most from the SmartBand SWR10, which will go on sale in March in more than 60 countries. For some people this device will be a godsend because they can keep a constant track of their exercise and sleep patterns, along with how many steps they walk during the day.
The information is then sent to the Lifelog app where you can study it or share it socially. To us this device is something of a strange one because it kind of does a half-hearted job because it has no display; it’s solely for data purposes.
We have seen many smartphones work in conjunction with apps to achieve almost the same thing, so why would you need to wear something so strange looking on your wrist?
Having said that, the SmartBand SWR10 does have the ability to vibrate when you receive a text message or call on your smartphone. We already know this band will be released next month, but as for the Sony SmartBand SWR10 price, we will just have to wait and see.
