We have some amazing news for Samsung device users now, both old and new. After seeing Android 4.4 Kitkat updates pass you by for those in Europe, Samsung has now decided to go public with their plans for providing Android 4.4 Kitkat updates for everyone in the US.
As expected, Kitkat is on the way to devices such as the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy S4. In fact Samsung has already started the rollout process as of this week, so you may have the update right now if you have been part of the lucky first wave.
The big surprise though, is that Samsung is also extending the US Android Kitkat update love to many older devices too. We can confirm that the likes of the Samsung Galaxy S3, Galaxy Tab 3, Galaxy Note 8.0 and Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet will all be getting Kitkat updates too in due course.
Samsung has even provided a full list of devices that will be getting the update very soon, they are as follows and according to the company’s press release sent out this week:

– Galaxy Note II
– Galaxy S4
– Galaxy S4 mini
– Galaxy S4 Active
– Galaxy S4 zoom
– Galaxy S III
– Galaxy S III mini
– Galaxy Mega
– Galaxy Light

– Galaxy Note 10.1
– Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition
You have to say that this is excellent work by Samsung. Who would have thought that older devices such as the Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Tab 3 would be due an official Android 4.4 Kitkat update?
Everyone has to be happy with this conclusion, as most Samsung users should be in possession at least one of the above devices. It’s a very pleasing outcome for tablet owners especially who have been stuck on Android Jelly Bean for many months.
