While some motorcycle enthusiasts remain sceptical about battery and electric bikes the new Lito Sora electric motorcycle specs are definitely worth checking out. As we embark on a greener future many bikers feel it is hard to reproduce the kind of speeds accessible to normal motorcycles, but it seems Lito has announced the production run of a 190 km/h Sora electric motorcycle.
The Canadian company behind the Sora, Lito Green Motion has created an electric motorcycle that can reach speeds of 118 mph and the new battery-powered streetfighter will be officially produced by the company.
Details of this can be seen on the Gizmag website and we have some Lito Sora electric motorcycle videos for our valued readers to check out below this post. The aluminium chassis and carbon fibre fairing of the Lito Sora help to reduce weight, while the initial specs listed for this are not the same as they were during the concept stage.
The Lito Sora is powered by a liquid-cooled 3-phase AC induction motor with 12 kWh lithium-polymer battery modules, and this motorcycle produces 90 Nm (66.37 ft-lb) from the get go. In addition, this has been developed with a power management system that consists of 3 control modes being normal, safe range and performance.
This ensures riders can monitor their distances and account for the amount of energy required for their journey. We are unsure of the specifics here, but the company states a maximum range of 200 km on the highway, and around 100 km in more congested urban environments.
Regardless of the light chassis the bike is still a rather heavy lump weighing around 260 kg/573.2 lbs, although it comes with some impressive new technology including a touchscreen mounted on the tank and an integrated GPS. It comes with a store compartment for charging and housing your cell phone, while this also caters for the stockier and taller riders out there.
The seat is regarded as the first one that allows the users to adjust the seat according to height, even in motion. The Lito Sora electric motorcycle price is expected to start at around $46,399 or US$42K and will be showcased at the end of the month at the Montreal Motorcycle show, and production will be carried out in Longueuil, Quebec.
The first Lito Sora electric motorcycle video below is one of two previously published YouTube videos and this only lasts just over a minute introducing the SORA 100% electric motorcycle, while the second lasts around 4 and half minutes giving us a brief documentary on this bike.
Some may feel this is a rather chunky looking motorcycle, but we are impressed with this electric beast, although we cannot help thinking that the price is a bit on the expensive side and this could be problematic, so we hope to see costs reduce once the production gets underway.
