COD 2014 zombies hope from Sledgehammer

Now that we know that Sledgehammer Games will officially develop the Call of Duty game for 2014, it means that we now have to wait until 2015 at the very least to see Treyarch’s new take on Black Ops 3 zombies.

With Infinity Ward having yet another crack at a zombies-type spin off with Extinction, we now want to look ahead as to what Sledgehammer Games will try to do with their own version of a zombies-type game mode.

It is almost a certainty that we will get this type of add-on to play, as Activision are not stupid and know how popular and addictive the zombies horde style game mode is with fans.

The problem that Sledgehammer has of course, is that gamers will only want to play Treyarch’s version of zombies and nothing else. This gives them a dilemma to come up with a game mode that fans will still find enjoyable and want to play with the COD 2014 game, when standard single-player and multiplayer becomes boring.

Truth be told, Extinction isn’t as popular as Treyarch’s Black Ops zombies and despite Infinity Ward’s efforts, it looks like most fans are already looking ahead to when the next Call of Duty zombies fix will come.

We have a feeling that Sledgehammer will definitely attempt to recapture that style of gameplay and go on to release additional content for that game mode just as we see with the COD Ghosts Season Pass which includes new Extinction maps.

Is there a danger that Sledgehammer Games will overdo it though and spoil the hype for Black Ops 3 zombies? If you are both excited about Sledgehammer’s COD game this year and disappointed about the wait for Treyarch’s game, let us know how you think it will play out.

What are you expecting Sledgehammer to do, to fill the zombies void?
