Nexus 10 or 7 2014 shock with HTC

By Alan Ng - Feb 7, 2014

The Google Nexus tablet mystery in 2014 has been ongoing, but it looks like we may have some exciting new information to share with you this week. After rumors suggesting that Samsung may be back in the frame to make the tablet, HTC could surprise everyone by making the tablet instead.

Google as ever are remaining absolutely silent on the possibility of a new Nexus tablet in 2014 become a reality any time soon. Consumers are not stupid though and are sensing that an announcement could be imminent.

We told you here about plans for Samsung to possibly build the Nexus 10, obviously taking over ASUS who have built the last two Nexus 7 tablets.

This week though, rumors are running wild suggesting that HTC could come out of nowhere with a shock move and build the next Nexus tablet in 2014 instead. The information has surfaced from Taiwan and specifically references a ‘high-end’ device which would come with arguably the most powerful hardware specifications seen in a Nexus device to date.

Furthermore, the same source also pinpoints a likely Nexus 10 or 7 2014 release date to happen during the third quarter of 2014. There was no specific mention of a 10-inch device, but obviously it is very likely to be a 10-inch, 7-inch or perhaps even both if Google are feeling confident.

Consumers my be skeptical of this idea at first given the reception towards the HTC Flyer, but with the Nexus name attached to it it’s a very different story.

The question we want to know is how ‘high-end’ is high-end? Also secondly, if this is going to be a high-end tablet then does that mean that prices are going to be raised compared to the bargain Nexus 7 2013 price point?

Very interesting times indeed and we can’t wait to see what happens next. Give us your reaction on a possible HTC Nexus 10 or 7 in 2014, also feel free to give us some HTC Nexus 10, 7 specs that you would want to see as well.
