When it comes to PlayStation exclusives Infamous: Second Son is one franchise that definitely needs to become available on the new PS4, and with talk about a third title in the series bracing Sony’s next-gen console in March we are confident about the future of this system. This will be a PS4 exclusive and owners of the system are bound to appreciate this franchise entering the next generation of gaming.
Previous games followed protagonist Cole McGrath who has superhuman powers allowing players to make morality-based decisions and go down a path that reflected those choices. This allowed players to choose between being a good guy or a bad one, so we expect to see more gameplay options in future instalments.
Details of the new release are discussed on Digital Trends as this March will see the third full game in the series coming as a PS4 exclusive with a new setting along with new features and a fresh protagonist. With a brand new selection of powers the core of the game will be relative to other Infamous titles, and some have been lucky enough to try this out already.
The PS4 exclusive will take off seven years after the good ending of Infamous 2 and the events have prompted the oppressive Department of Unified Protection to hunt people down with superhuman abilities. Set in the new world of Seattle, the watchtowers and the streets are patrolled by armed guards and Infamous: Second Son has a new protagonist called Delsin Rowe who is a young graffiti artist that finds out he has been gifted with superpowers that are somewhat different to that of Cole McGrath.
Delsin is able to absorb other conduits, not just electricity and lighting, and this allows him to make his powers change. We are unsure whether there is any connection between Cole and Delsin, as developers Sucker Punch are reluctant to comment. More future changing decisions will come from the choices Delsin makes will a little help for an older brother who is a policeman, as they both try to take on the DUP.
The game is said to feature next-gen graphics and the animation is regarded as smooth with plenty of detail, not to mention a grand array of partially destructible environments to take down, especially guard watchtowers. According to those who have played it the game Second Son is very much an Infamous game that allows users to cultivate numerous powers whilst retaining its core characteristics.
The game will be released on 21st March on the PS4 and we cannot wait for the arrival of another decent franchise exclusive to the PlayStation 4.
