How is your Xbox One experience in the UK at the moment? If you are a big fan of streaming television, one of the biggest highlights available online is the BBC iPlayer app. Unfortunately though, the Xbox One iPlayer release date is still missing and it looks like users could still be waiting months for the app that was initially promised before launch.
iPlayer is an app that allows UK consumers to watch amazing BBC shows such as Sherlock amongst others. It’s been a massive hit for many years and was a massive hit on Xbox 360.
However, something is going on behind the scenes which is preventing the app from coming out on Xbox One. To add salt to the wound further, BBC iPlayer is already available on the PS4 and has was released almost immediately after the console launched.
Digging deeper, it appears that the sole reason behind the Xbox One iPlayer delay is due to the Kinect camera not playing nicely with the BBC’s software. You can find out more about this theory by reading this rather intriguing article – although, approach with caution.
Are you expecting iPlayer to release in the next few weeks? If so, there may be more disappointment to come as the latest whispers suggest that iPlayer on Xbox One may not even be ready for months.
With the BBC already confirmed to be one official entertainment partner of Microsoft though with regards to the Xbox One, we have a feeling that this could be a rather delicate situation internally.
Are you surprised about the iPlayer on Xbox One delay, considering that the app works fine on PS4? Give us your reaction to this below.
