Tomb Raider: Definitive PS4 vs. PS3 graphical differences

By Peter Chubb - Jan 15, 2014

This months release of Tomb Raider: Definitive for next-gen consoles is so important for many reasons, one of which being the fact that it is one of the last-gen titles coming to the PS4 and Xbox One. As you would imagine, gamers are curious as to what the differences between the last-gen and what we should now call current generation are.

Thankfully, IGN is on hand to help answer that question for us because they have uploaded a Tomb Raider: Definitive PS4 vs. PS3 comparison video, which goes into detail about the graphical differences.

Many of you will know that the PS4 and Xbox One versions of this game offer 1080p resolution, which can be seen clearly in the footage below. However, in some of the footage it shows that the previous generation of Tomb Raider: Definitive is a little brighter, although the slightly darker footage of the PS4 version does offer more detail, such as the shape of Lara’s body and especially her hair.

We ask that you watch the Tomb Raider: Definitive PS4 and PS3 graphics comparison and analysis video in full and tell us if you feel the jump between generations is better or worse than that of Call of Duty Ghosts or Battlefield 4?

Fans of the series have been asking for a PC release of the latest Tomb Raider title, but as yet there are no plans to do so.

They look identical because …. it’s a port.
I’m sure the PS4 pumps out some more FPS’s at least.

Not a drastic difference but looks good.

Not drastic? I think it’s a huge difference. Lara doesn’t even look like the same person
