2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra recalls in 2013

It would not be a normal start to the week if we did not have a car recall to discuss, and we’re sad to say that we will not disappoint. We say this because it has now come to our attention that General Motors has had to announce a recall for their 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra due to an issue with their airbags.

These Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra recalls in 2013 are for the 2014 model and will affect just 843 units, and while this is a low number, it’s still 843 more than owners would have liked. However, they will also be happy that this issue has been dealt with quickly and that there is to be a recall, as this is a serious safety issue.

We’re pleased to say that this airbag issue with the Silverado and Sierra has not resulted in any crashes or injuries, so it’s good to know that the problem is to be resolved before something bad was to happen. General Motors will begin contacting affected owners shortly, and as ever the repair will incur no cost on your part.

It’s no shock that General Motors has acted on this problem, as the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra are two vehicles that are very important to them, not only because they make a healthy profit on each model, but also the fact that they are to rival the Ford F-150 and the Ram 1500, but it’s still early days as to which of these is the better truck?

What concerns us here is the fact that a truck they have just started to build is already involved in a recall, although we have to realize that such things happen, especially when you consider the number of components that go into building such a vehicle.

You have to always find the positive in this kind of news, and so we have to make a point that it’s far better to receive a recall so early in these trucks release rather than later down the line.
