Assassin’s Creed 5 may release separate version for next gen consoles

With Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag still very much in its element, it is probably too early to think about the next title, or is it? There is talk that Ubisoft is currently developing what is thought to be Assassin’s Creed 5; however it is understood that they are planning to make separate games for the current and next generation platforms.

The rumors are that Ubisoft is planning to launch two different Assassin’s Creed 5 games in 2014; one for PS3 and Xbox 360 and the other for PS4 and Xbox One. The separation of the series could force some fans to upgrade their console, in order to play a more advanced version of their favorite game.

This potential change could be to promote the power of the PS4 and Xbox One, in a hope that more players will make the switch. Whilst Ubisoft has stood firm and will not comment on rumor, these claims do seem reasonable. Developers will still cater for all platforms for the time being, but in the next few years we will slowly see PS3 and Xbox 360 content diminish. We should all prepare for the next gen apocalypse.

How would you feel if Ubisoft brought out separate versions of the game for the different platforms? Let us know what you would like to see the new Assassin’s Creed game bring and if you plan to buy it when it launches in the future.
