Gran Turismo 6 Vs GT5 PS3 graphics are worse?

By Alan Ng - Dec 6, 2013

The day has finally come for all Gran Turismo 6 fans on PS3. The game is finally available to buy on Sony’s PS3 console – the only platform that is supported after Polyphony Digital decided not to release on PS4. Now, the first Gran Turismo 6 Vs Gran Turismo 5 graphics comparison is out, although you may be disappointed with the results.

After a three year wait for Gran Turismo 6, fans are expecting big things. Having the game on PS3 and not PS4 was a big shock, putting more pressure on Polyphony Digital to deliver a game that is well worth consumer’s effort in buying another $60 game on current-gen hardware.

As we told you earlier this week, GT6 isn’t shy of content. There’s over 1000 cars to choose from and now with the option of buying cars instantly with micro-transactions if you don’t have time to grind.

With the game now available to buy, graphics comparisons have already started to appear. There has been some early warning signs though from those who played the demo and complained that the GT6 graphics are not up to par compared to GT5.

In a GT6 Vs GT5 graphics video that we have included below, you’ll notice that some of the car shadow effects seem to be missing from GT6, the same shadows that were in place on GT5. We’re also getting early feedback from some of you who are saying that the visuals in GT6 are ‘too blurry‘.

Take a look for yourself and let us know what you think of the graphics quality in GT6. Do you think there is a major problem here considering fans have been waiting 3 years for this game to release?

Man, can’t you see that GT6 shadows are real-time point projected while GT5’s are simulated drawn…. (y)
