Final Fantasy 14 PS4 beta and definite release date

By Peter Chubb - Feb 13, 2014

Having already been treated to some of the changes being made to Final Fantasy 14, we have some exciting news because A Realm Reborn PS4 has been given a definite release date, which is April 4, 2014.

This is certainly welcome news for fans waiting for Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn to come to the next-gen console. However, before then you will get a chance to test the game with a Final Fantasy 14 PS4 beta, which is planned to be ready for release on February 22, 2014.

What is so significant about the beta release date is this is when the PlayStation 4 will be available to buy in Japan. We know it seems strange how Sony is a Japanese company, yet they have to wait three months for it to be released after the US.

You have to admire Yoshida and its support for customers, as they made it clear a while ago that gamers who purchased the PS3 version of the game will get a free upgrade for the PlayStation 4 version. However, this will block access to the current-gen console.

We just need to tell you that this is the release date for Japan because as yet there has been no details as to when Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn for US and Europe will be released.
