Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes PS4, Xbox One update

If you are still confused about the whole Metal Gear Solid V Ground Zeroes and Phantom Pain projects that are on the way, allow us to fill in a couple of blanks. We also have some further details on the Metal Gear Solid V PS4 exclusive DLC, which will allow players to play as the classic Solid Snake character from previous games.

It appears that with the upcoming release of Metal Gear Solid V, many gamers are a bit confused. If you still aren’t aware, Ground Zeroes and the Phantom Pain are two separate games. Hideo Kojima has set the record straight in saying that Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes is a prequel and will release first, before the main game – Metal Gear Solid V: Phantom Pain is released.

It could be quite some time before we see Phantom Pain out on the shelves, but at least we’ll have Ground Zeroes to play soon to keep us interested. Ground Zeroes is going to be available to download during Spring 2014 and has now been confirmed to have a price tag of £29.99 on PS3, Xbox 360.

There will also be PS4 and Xbox One versions of Ground Zeroes just to remind you. These will be available as digital copies though and will also be priced at £29.99.

With regards to the PS4 exclusive mission, here is what Konami has said in a recent release:

“Users will be able to access a unique ‘MGS1 Deja-Vu’ mission that references key events from the original PSOne® classic, METAL GEAR SOLID. The exclusive mission tasks the user with reproducing famous scenes from the original game. As players recreate the iconic moments, a flashback system reproduces the original graphical style of the original PSOne® game – complete with greatly reduced ‘vintage’ polygon count – and introduces familiar enemies and weather conditions for added authenticity. The mission will be available to both digital and boxed users, and will ultimately let players assume the appearance of the classic ‘Solid Snake’ within the GROUND ZEROES universe once proper conditions are met. “

So there you have it. £29.99 ($50) is an interesting price for Ground Zeroes, so we look forward to seeing how much content this prequel actually contains. With Ground Zeroes due out in Spring 2014, don’t be surprised if we don’t see Phantom Pain until deep into 2015.
