iOS 7.1 beta vs. 7.0.4 on iPhone 5S and 5 respectively

By Peter Chubb - Nov 19, 2013

iOS 7.0.4 was released just last week and with it came a few bug fixes but not much else, although that is about to change. That’s because iOS 7.1 beta has now been released and made available to devs, and with it a heap of release notes.

We already disused how developers will have to update to iTunes 11.1.3 before they can download iOS 7.1, which is just what the guy in the video has done below.

The video looks at how iOS 7.1 beta runs on the iPhone 5S compared to iOS 7.0.4, which is installed on the iPhone 5. Just so you know, the 5S is on the left and the 5 on the right, as the light is so bad in the video.

We get to see some of the new features added to iOS 7.1, but we would have preferred if the guy in the video done some more homework. We say this because he seems generally confused to see that the iPhone 5 with iOS 7.04 does not have slo-mo. It is as if he does not now this feature is specific to the 5S.

One of the newest features within iOS 7.1 is “Use Dark Keyboard.” You will notice in the video that when selected the keyboard does not look that much darker, but then that all depends on the app you are using.

View some of the other new features now and let us know if Apple has gone far enough? Let us hope they have managed to get on top of the iPhone 4 and iPhone 5S battery problems.
