Nextbook 7 Next7P12-8G review with Netflix warning

By Alan Ng - Nov 18, 2013

A few weeks ago, we highlighted the Nextbook 8 NX008HD8G tablet as one potential option for you if you were specifically looking for a budget Android tablet as an alternative to the Google Nexus 7. Now though, we’re pleased to hear that Nextbook has updated their range, with the Nextbook 7 Next7P12-8G that is also available to buy this month.

It terms of budget tablets, the Nextbook 7-inch could be the best of them all – especially for its price and being under $100 which is very difficult to match elsewhere. It offers more than decent functionality as well, with access to the Google Play store and 8GB of internal memory to utilize which is expandable via MicroSD card.

Other features include a 1Ghz Cortex A9 processor, 1GB of RAM, a front camera and plenty of connectivity options with a USB 2.0 port, Micro-USB 2.0 port and mini-HDMI port thrown in. The operating system is Android 4.0, so it will be shipping with Ice Cream Sandwich out of the box.

We’ve included a video review below for those that are thinking of picking one up this month. It looks like a very solid tablet indeed for the low-cost, but there does appear to be an issue on using this tablet with the Netflix Android app.

Upon using this app, you may discover that Netflix and other apps are incompatible for the tablet. Fortunately, it looks like a temporary workaround has been located, by downloading an alternative Netflix 1.0.7 APK which we’ve found for you here.

Other than that, we’ll be eager to find out if you have spotted a better 7-inch Android tablet for under $100. Let us know if you have had experience with Nextbook tablets before and whether you would recommend this tablet to others or not.
