Assassin’s Creed 4 PS4 DLC won’t be coming to Xbox One

We have some important news for those looking to buy the upcoming PS4 and Xbox One next-gen consoles. Some of you may have already bought Assassin’s Creed 4 on current-gen formats, but we now have confirmation that the PlayStation exclusive Assassin’s Creed 4 DLC that offers 60 minutes of extra gameplay, won’t be available on Xbox One or Xbox 360 under any circumstances.

Just like the PS3 version of Assassin’s Creed 3, Ubisoft and Sony has partnered once again to offer 60 minutes worth of exclusive footage on the PS3 and PS4 versions of Assassin’s Creed 4, which landed earlier this week on current-gen platforms.

There had been some whispers that this content would in fact be timed-exclusive and would turn up on Xbox 360 and Xbox One after six months. However, Ubisoft has now confirmed that this isn’t true and the content will remain exclusive to PS3 and PS4 gamers forever.

It’s a similar case to what is currently going on with the Titanfall situation. It’s just been confirmed that the game won’t be coming to PS3 and PS4, so it looks like both Sony and Microsoft have struck firm exclusivity arrangements with Ubisoft and EA respectively to make sure the content stays put.

As an Xbox 360 user reading this though, does it upset you that you won’t be able to play-through the 60 minute Avaline missions or not? If you want this content at all costs, then you may want to opt for the PS4 version, which is also the subject of a graphics debate compared to PS3 at the moment.

What is your reaction to the confirmation that the 60 minute content is staying exclusive to PlayStation permanently?

Even as a Ps3 and soon-to-be Ps4 owner, I don’t really see this as much of a big deal for any xbox owner. It’s just 60 minutes, unless you are REALLY into the series, I don’t think it will bother them that much.
