Sky Now TV Box with apps, forget Netflix

By Peter Chubb - Oct 23, 2013

If you have an older LCD TV that lacks the Smart features of today’s TVs, then there are several choices for you. One choice would be Apple TV, but this one-off cost might be a little steep for some and would rather something a little cheaper.

This is where the new Sky Now TV Box comes in, as it costs just £9.99 for the device. You can now purchase these at Argos, Currys and PC World.

Once you connect TV Now up to your television you will then have a choice of different content packages. It is this choice that makes it a service that could challenge Netflix, but they both have their good and bad points.

However, it is Sky TV Now with apps that appeal to us the most, as you can make the device greater than the sum of its parts with a selection of free apps, which you can read about here. However, we can tell you that you will have access to 4oD, BBC iPlayer and much more.

The Now TV price with a Sky Sports Day Pass is just £14.99, or £24.99 if you want access to Sky Movies for three months. Again, it is the access to some of Sky’s Sports and Movie channels that will make you consider leaving Netflix for.
