It has certainly been a while since we covered any news on motorcycles, and what better way to start offering coverage once again by reporting about the new Ducati 1199 Superleggera. This is a limited production model based on the Panigale R, and so has been built with one thing in mind, and that is speed.

The Ducati 1199 Superleggera is a super lightweight bike thanks to it being made from a mix of carbon fiber, magnesium and titanium to help make it very strong as well.

As for the Ducati 1199 Superleggera specs, which were revealed with a bunch of new images, it is clear there is a high power-to-weight ratio. The engine used is the 1198cc L-twin engine, with its four-valve cylinder heads. This engine will rev to 11,500 rpm and will produce more than 200 horsepower, which is a lot when you consider how light the motorcycle is.

What is the use of all that power and super-lightweight design without decent handling, and so the Ducati 1199 Superleggera handling is helped along the way with Ohlins suspension. To help bring you to a stop are a set of Brembo brakes.

Add all this together and you have a bike that weighs less than 341 pounds. There is so much more to this bike, all of which can be seen on the Ducati webpage.
