The Witcher 3 preview after gameplay

If you are a fan of open-world games, you won’t need us to tell you that one of the most anticipated gaming titles of 2014 is easily The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. The open-world RPG is looking mesmerizingly beautiful in the graphics department, building on The Witcher 2 and even boasting some advantages over The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

We previously showed you some early footage of the game in action, which unfortunately has since been removed at the request of developers CD Projekt Red. If you managed to catch it before it was removed, you would have understood why so many gamers and critics alike are already predicting The Witcher 3 to be one of the highlights of 2014.

To make up for the lack of gameplay footage, we have some excellent previews for you to take a look at, most compiled after gameplay demos from the recent GamesCom expo in Cologne, Germany. CD Projekt Red were generous enough to provide a 45 minute gameplay demo, leaving those playing enough time to gather their thoughts in written format.

The first of the previews comes from GamesOnNet, who aside from giving their personal impressions on the anticipated game, also offer you the chance to see some screenshots captured from the same demo. For another take on the game, you may want to read what RockPaperShotgun had to say about the game too.

Don’t forget that The Witcher 3 is a game that is meant to be 20% larger than Skyrim, just to give you an idea of the open-world scale that we’re dealing with, since Skyrim is already considered a massive game in size.

Finally, we have one more preview for you to read from PCGamesN, who talk about some of the structured quests in the game and the fact that The Witcher 3 will have at least 100 hours of gameplay before any sign of completion is in sight.

Sony has promised to show a ton of new games at their upcoming Tokyo Games Show press conference, so let’s hope that CD Projekt Red will make fans happy and show off the game running directly on PS4 hardware.

We’ve also added a video preview below which we think you’ll enjoy, so read all of the information here and let us know how pumped up for The Witcher 3 you are.
