Lightning Returns Final Fantasy 13 is a game that is not due to be released on Xbox 360 and PS3 until early 2014, but it looks like we already have some sneaky gameplay for you to watch. This footage seems to be have been captured very early at a secret event, maybe even against the wishes of Square-Enix – so watch it while you can.
For those lucky enough to live in Japan, gamers there will be able to enjoy the game at the end of the year, as Square-Enix has already confirmed that Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy 13 will have a Japanese release in November 2013. Everyone in the US and Europe though will instead have to wait until February to get their hands on the game.
Luckily, we have some gameplay for you to check out which could well be the very first chance to see the game so early if you haven’t yet. The footage has been taken with a camera off-screen though, so the quality is far from perfect. It does still however, offer a solid look at a game that is not due out until next year and a good look at the revamped battle interface which appears to have done away with the classic turn-based format.
Square-Enix has already boasted that Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy 13 will be the most ‘complete and polished’ Final Fantasy game in the series to date, and it certainly does look like a considerable step up compared to FFXIII-2.
Judging by the video, it looks like this demo here was only intended for viewing by those lucky enough to attend a private Square-Enix showing. There’s also plenty of tutorial messages to put up with when watching the action unfold. Check it out while you still can and let us know if you are willing to buy yet another game in the Final Fantasy XIII saga.
