Assassin’s Creed 4 open world gameplay walkthrough

It’s been a while since we last talked about Assassin’s Creed 4, but with the game now getting closer to that October release date, we thought we would share some fantastic new gameplay that Ubisoft has now released. The game will feature some great open-world elements, with Ubisoft keen to show them off to excited fans this week with a new preview.

Like other Ubisoft games coming this year, consumers once again have the decision on whether to pick up Assassin’s Creed 4 for current-gen consoles, or wait until November until the PS4 and Xbox One versions are out instead. Along with Watch Dogs, we already know that Assassin’s Creed 4 is going to be available as launch titles on the next-gen consoles – so it’s nice that this is already set in place.

As for the gameplay, Ubisoft has really spoilt you this week, by offering up a 13 minute gameplay walkthrough showing some of the open-world aspects of the game – both on land and at sea. The gameplay you’ll see takes place in the carribean West Indies, showing main character Edward in a series of gorgeous environments.

Although not confirmed, we’re willing to guess that this is the PC version being shown here, as it really does look beautiful in terms of pure graphics. Having said that, we’d also like to assume that the next-gen versions will look just as good and hoping that current-gen versions on Xbox 360 and PS3 are not cut down too much.

It must be a difficult task to be building the same game on so many platforms, so it’s great to see the game looking so good and on course for the end of October release with no sign of delays. If Assassin’s Creed 4 is on your shopping list this year, you’ll be a fool to miss out on this gameplay and commentary above.
