A few days ago, we revealed to you updated details for the Battlefield 4 Deluxe Edition, which we now know will include a steel book case for the game along with 3 gold ‘Battle Packs’ to use for in-game content. Now though, it looks like we now have the first solid information regarding the limited edition version of the game – ie the one which EA will charge the most money for.
Unfortunately though, on first glance it appears that the added incentives are nothing to get excited about at all. In actual fact, some of you may question why EA are providing a Collector’s Edition of Battlefield 4 at all – you’ll see why below.
As seen in an image from a Czech retailer, the Collector’s Edition of Battlefield 4 is going to come with various plastic collectibles. These include a plastic cup shaped like a grenade, a bracelet, a plastic carry case and a winter Battlefield 4 hat. These come on top of the usual content such as the game itself, a steel book, access to the China Rising DLC pack, some postcards and some gold Battle Packs as seen with the Deluxe Edition.
The bad news, is that this package is thought to be over $100. The good news, is that there is still an element of uncertainty on whether this is an official Collector’s Edition from EA, or just a special version of the game that is exclusive to the Czech retailer – we obviously hope it is the latter.
Who is going to want to pay over $100 for a collection of plastic junk? Even the $130 Limited Edition of Watch Dog gave you a respectable 9-inch figurine of Aiden Pearce at least. Hopefully EA will clear this up for us, but we doubt anyone in their right mind will pay over $100 for this.
Give us your thoughts. Do you fancy drinking your morning coffee in a grenade-themed plastic cup?
