If you are looking for one final reason to pick up the highly anticipated HD remaster of Final Fantasy X later this year, Square-Enix has possibly granted this wish in the most definitive fashion. Not to be content with the hundreds of comparison videos up at YouTube, the developer has released a Final Fantasy X HD Vs PS2 comparison video of their own to really show the key differences between the new game and the classic original on PS2.
We knew the differences were fairly significant before from a previous comparison we looked at, but this should definitely seal the deal towards a purchase for many of you. Square-Enix gives us a clear look at the facial differences between the two versions and we have to say the differences in quality is quite staggering to say the least.
Both Tidus and Yuna look remarkably different with their HD makeovers, while the general environments look pretty too. Some gamers are unhappy that Square-Enix are planning to charge $40 for this, but at the end of the day – let’s take into account that this appears to be a remake that has been given the full treatment by the Square-Enix, with no signs of corners being cut anywhere.
Add to that the fact that Final Fantasy X-2 HD also comes on the PS3 disc for free and actually it could look like a bargain if you treat both remakes as a $20 purchase each. The game also has one of the best video game soundtracks of all time as well from famed composer Nobuo Uematsu, so actually there probably isn’t too much to complain about in terms of value we feel.
Check out the new comparison video above from Square-Enix and let us know if you are pumped up for the release. Will you be buying it day one or not?
