E3 2013 may not be kicking off until next week, but we already have an early teaser for you. Ubisoft has released an E3 trailer for the highly anticipated South Park: The Stick of Truth game, which is due out later on in the year from Obsidian Entertainment. We haven’t seen too much by way of actual gameplay yet, but let’s hope that more is coming at the event next week.
The Stick of Truth is easily one of the most anticipated games of 2013, perhaps even more so now that the game received a delay due to Ubisoft taking over the game from troubled publishers THQ. Obsidian Entertainment meanwhile has been slowly going about their work, with fans quietly confident that the game will be well worth waiting for, after the studio delivered an excellent Fallout: New Vegas game.
The trailer itself gives you another taster as to just how crazy the game is going to be upon final release, although some of you may be disappointed to see that not all of the footage is new. Having said that, what is shown looks incredible and basically everything you know and love from the TV series is being thrown into this game – including Cartman’s trademark humor and profanities.
What we really need to see though is a release date. We do not see a launch date attached to the end of this trailer, and Ubisoft really needs to deliver on this during E3 – especially since the game was originally expected at the start of the year. The Stick of Truth is definitely coming out in 2013, but a date for fans at E3 will be the icing on the cake – along with some non-cutscene gameplay.
Check out the E3 trailer above and let us know if you are still pumped up for South Park: The Stick of Truth.
