We have some good news for Wii U owners now, as a brand new demo will be available to download this week, coming in the form of Resident Evil Revelations, which has now been fully converted into a console game after originally releasing exclusively on the Nintendo 3DS. Also, further good news is in store for those planning to take full advantage of the Virtual Console – especially for Metroid fans.
If you always wanted to play Resident Evil Revelations, but never had the chance on the 3DS, Capcom and Nintendo are giving you the opportunity to try the game out for free this week. A demo for the Wii U version will be available on Tuesday via the eStore, while those looking to play on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC can also find demos in their respective stores as well.
The Virtual Console is continuing to go from strength to strength, with the confirmation that another big game is joining Super Mario Bros 2 and Super Ghouls n Ghosts that we have already told you about recently. The classic SNES game Super Metroid will be available to buy this Thursday and wait for it – for £0.30 as well.
That is next to nothing for a game considered to be one of the best 2D platformers ever released, not to mention being one of the best SNES games ever as well. If you are interested in picking up this game on Wii U, you won’t have long to take advantage of the amazing price.
Nintendo has already said that the £0.30p deal will only last one day, with the game reverting back to a more expensive price on June 14 at 23:59 CEST. Meanwhile, the prices for Super Ghouls and Ghosts, and Super Mario Bros 2 have already been confirmed as well – you’ll have to pay £5.49 and £3.49 respectively.
So there we have it. Plenty of new content to keep Wii U owners happy for another week. Let us know your fondest memories of Super Metroid on the SNES, and whether you will be reliving the dream for £0.30p or not.
