Pokemon X and Y gameplay shows Godspeed Mewtwo moves

As expected, Nintendo and Game Freak unveiled the big Pokemon X and Y news over the weekend, finally giving fans the chance to see some new footage of the game after many disappointing leaks. Prior to the reveal, we told you that two new forms of Mewtwo were coming, one of which had been teased as Godspeed Mewtwo.

At the time, many thought the image we showed would turn out to be another elaborate fake, but we can tell you that Nintendo has indeed unveiled a new form of Mewtwo as their big reveal. What they haven’t revealed yet though, is the ‘Godspeed’ title before it, instead preferring to keep the creature unnamed.

As we told you in our previous report , source code from the official Pokemon movie already name-dropped Godspeed Mewtwo, so it is looking likely that the name will stick and be revealed in an official capacity when Nintendo and Game Freak are ready. The main part of the reveal though is the brand new Pokemon X and Y gameplay that we have for you – giving you a specific look at the move set of Godspeed Mewtwo.

The 3D animations look absolutely stunning and you can see in clear detail some of the moves you’ll be able to perform once you have managed to capture the elusive creature. We see five psychic-based moves in the video, with the most powerful attack being teased at the end.

Unsurprisingly, it looks like Godspeed Mewtwo is going to be one of the most powerful Pokemon in the game and we should get a better idea of these moves when the latest Pokemon movie releases in Japan.

It’s important to remember that the Godspeed title isn’t 100% confirmed yet, so just bear that in mind as we await more official news. Watch the footage above and let us know what you think of the new form.
