Black Ops 2 DLC Revolution with Die Rise zombies

By Alan Ng - Dec 31, 2012

We haven’t heard any details on potential DLC for Black Ops 2 since its release in November, but we do know that there are going to be four main map pack releases as part of the Black Ops 2 Season Pass, which many gamers have already snapped up for $50 and will give them access to all four packs. As we approach the new year, it looks like early details on the first pack may have been revealed unofficially, with posters appearing to unveil the first content as Revolution – comprised of a generous four multiplayer maps and a brand new zombie map.

In previous years, we have only seen four new maps with every map pack release, so it is great news if Treyarch and Activision are planning to give Season Pass holders an extra multiplayer map than initially thought. There is no word on Activision yet on the authenticity of the poster, but it does look legitimate we have to say.

Assuming the poster is real, Revolution is going to include new multiplayer maps by the name of Hydro, Downhill, Grind and Mirage. There are smaller thumbnail images of each map by the descriptions, but all eyes will obviously be on the new zombie map, which will be called Die Rise assuming everything is legit.

This name should be of interest to zombie veterans, as it is somewhat similar to the Der Riese map name that was featured in the World at War game, although it remains to be seen if the two maps really are connected. The thumbnail for Die Rise on the poster appears to show a background featuring skyscrapers, which is obviously very different to the Der Riese map which took place in a German Nazi facility.

Information included with the poster also suggests that Revolution will be released on January 29th, meaning that we could just have one month to go until the first map pack is out. As usual, Xbox 360 players will be able to get their hands on the content first and non-Season Pass owners will be able to pay $14.99 for it. Once again though, nothing is official yet so hopefully we’ll get a confirmation from Activision later this week after the new year celebrations.

What are your initial thoughts on the four multiplayer maps and new zombie map that have been mentioned? Do you have any theories on what Die Rise could entail?
