What on earth are excited GTA V fans going to do now until Spring 2013, now that official news from Rockstar may start to get quiet again after the amazing trailer 2 reveal? The answer to this may be seen in one new custom video that a fan has made, taking GTA 5 anticipation onto a whole new level with some fantastic mod work.
It never ceases to amaze us when we see some of the brilliant possibilities that users can come up with when modding the PC version of GTA IV. You only have to look at the infamous GTA IV Back To The Future mod to see how crazy it can get, and now we have something really nice to show you – the entire GTA 5 trailer 2, recreated in full using the GTA IV game engine.
The remade trailer takes all of the story elements seen in the GTA V trailer 2 and brings them to life using GTA IV mod tools and characters which have been created to bear similarities to our three new heroes in GTA 5 – Michael, Trevor and Franklin. The key moments are all included in the GTA IV remake, including the train jump, Michael’s son falling into the car on the highway, Trevor beating some guy to a pulp on the floor and even Trevor throwing a molotov into a house and walking away as it explodes – lovely.
We can’t imagine the production work involved in getting all of the highlights from the GTA V trailer, into this new version on the GTA IV game engine. Adding the Stevie Wonder Skeletons track must have been the easy part though and it just makes the whole experience even more watchable in our opinion.
It’s also a good scope to see just how much Rockstar has improved on graphics in GTA V, compared to GTA IV which released back in 2008. The difference in visual quality, particularly facial models is there to see clearly, so that is another thumbs up to Rockstar in our books on another job well done in the graphics department.
We just love the included parachute scene as well – makes us smile every time we see it. Watch the fantastic video below and let us know what you thought of it. Are you amazed to see just how ‘bad’ GTA IV now looks, compared to GTA V which we’ll get on the same consoles in Spring? Hopefully Rockstar sees this as well and gives it their seal of approval.
