Samsung Galaxy S3 Jelly Bean, Note 2 hit Singapore

By Daniel Chubb - Oct 31, 2012

The latest version of Google’s Android 4.1 OS is making its way around the world, and within the last couple of days Samsung posted details on the Galaxy S3 Jelly Bean update, which this time had been for Singapore and the message hit the official Facebook page. Samsung also updated followers on the Galaxy Note 2 launch in Singapore, and a video featured on the page asking users to watch the exciting launch of Galaxy Note 2 LTE.

We’ve embedded the video below this article that Samsung uploaded within the last 3 hours, and features the SingTel Galaxy Note 2 LTE event. The video runs for over 3 minutes and the good news for US/UK readers is that it’s in English, so feel free to take a look below.

In regard to the Samsung Galaxy S3 Jelly Bean update, the quick Facebook message explained that Singapore readers could expect Android 4.1.1 to continue its “progressive” rollout to users, and that they can access it via OTA, Kies, and also by visiting a customer service outlet. They also warn users to backup data before upgrading their Galaxy S3 to Jelly Bean. You can find the Samsung Mobile Singapore Facebook page here, although a few users still have queries in regard to other colors launching for the Galaxy Note 2, so feel free to keep connected to their social channels for future updates.

I am still waiting for Jellybean on my S3 on T-Mobile UK. They have disabled OTA updates and Kies is showing me as having the latest firmware (Ice cream sandwich ) Not good, pull your finger out T-Mobile or you are going to lose a lot of customers including me 🙁

Hey Brent. There’s a µSD card slot. It’s much more cheaper to include a 64GB instead than paying additional 100 bucks every 16GB.

  • I wonder if Singapore is one of the lucky places that gets the 32GB and 64GB storage version of the Note II. (Unlike the US, which only gets the sucky 16 GB version).

Does anyone know if larger unlocked versions purchased from other places will work with any of the US carriers?

If the US hasn’t got it….that means Canada will have to wait like 2 months after.

Amazing that the Verizon Wireless US (Samsung Galaxy S3) had not gotten Jelly Bean 4.1 yet.

    • In all actuality, as much as I agree with you, it’s really no surprise… With Android 4.2 released recently, users of the Galaxy SIII for Verizon will likely see our update by, my guess would be, by April, May timeframe… Maybe by June…. Way to go Verizon….
