Assassin’s Creed 3 Wii U gameplay proves system can handle hardcore

By Alan Ng - Jun 20, 2012

If you missed the chance to check out how Assassin’s Creed 3 looks on the Wii U at E3, then allow us to refresh your memory. Some of you may not have seen the detailed gameplay video, which shows protagonist Connor strutting his stuff on Nintendo’s brand new console.

We had previously shown you a snippet of this gameplay in a earlier report during E3, but now we have the full video to show you. Apologies if you have already seen it, but for those that haven’t it’s an excellent look at just how impressive the Wii U graphics actually are.

Assassin’s Creed 3 looks fantastic on the Wii U and this gameplay gives you an idea of this. It takes place in a busy Boston marketplace, with Connor having to work his way around to pick out certain British redcoat targets. We can’t take our eyes of the stunning lighting effects in this particular level and we love the action around the 1.30 mark when Connor climbs up the tree and takes out the guard – just look at that stunning foliage folks.

We still see a lot of criticism on how the Wii U still not be able to compete with the next-generation consoles from Sony and Microsoft, but at the end of the day Nintendo has well and truly promised on their initial statement that the Wii U would be able to handle hardcore games.

If however, you are looking to pick up the best version of Assassin’s Creed 3 from a graphics point of view, then the Wii U may well end up being the best out of the lot. Don’t forget though that the PS3 version will have some exclusive DLC as announced by Sony at E3.

If you have been reading the criticisms too on the Wii U after E3, do you think this gameplay well and truly silences the doubters? Assassin’s Creed 3 and ZombieU are easily the most impressive games seen on the Wii U so far, let’s hope that Nintendo has some other highlights for us soon.

And finally we have a journalist who is not badly stereotyping and just dismissing nintendos console. Lotd of journalists dismiss nintendos wii u, but honestly without nintendo in the gaming world things look bleak. They are the innovators, theyrr the creative one, they’re the ome woth fun gameplay from unique views without the need to just pump out graphical power and violence like its out of style.. I hugely prefer nintendos consoles because of the exclusives, but now well be able to hopefully get the best of both with a robust online experience, the same third party games and nintendos own ingenuinity when it comes to games. Looking forward to Wii U like nutsss. Can’t wait.
