You may have been disappointed recently to hear that the upcoming Ninja Gaiden 3 game will not feature dismemberment of any sort. Now though, we more on to more positive news, with the confirmation that Ninja Gaiden Sigma Plus for the PS Vita will now be a launch title in the US and Europe.
If you haven’t read the news surrounding the dismemberment debate, you can read that back again here. We’re shifting our attentions to the upcoming Vita launch now though, and it is a pleasant surprise to hear that Ninja Gaiden Sigma Plus will be a bonus launch title for everyone planning to pick up Sony’s new handheld on February 22nd.
Ninja Gaiden Sigma Plus is a port of the original Ninja Gaiden Sigma game that released on the PS3 back in 2007. Just like the PS3 version though which received several upgrades from the Xbox original, the PS Vita will again feature brand new content, the most notable being support for touchscreen controls using the Vita display, and also some new camera options which were not available in previous games.
The PS3 game was deemed a success both with fans and critics, so we have a feeling that there’s still a lot of love for Ninja Gaiden and it seems like a great addition to the PS Vita launch lineup. Earlier we asked you if Monster Hunter Portable 3 on the Vita would be the sole reason for picking up a new system from Sony, but Ninja Gaiden Sigma Plus is definitely up there as well for the title of ‘best Vita launch game’.
The title of the game is a bit of a chore it has to be said though, so let’s hope that Team Ninja have put a lot of effort into this in re-creating some of the magic seen in the PS3 version, and not just given this a lazy port as we so often see in the gaming industry.
Is this great news for your launch plans for the PS Vita? Are you confident that this game will be as good as the PS3 version or do you have doubts?
