The 2010 LA Auto Show got off to a great start, and showing off the 2012 Mercedes-Benz CLS63 AMG early was a big deal for the German carmaker, who hopes to put the vehicle into production next summer in the U.S. I cannot decide whether I love or hate the styling, maybe it is one of those cars that will grow on me?
The new AMG will certainly pack a punch with that 5.5-liter V8 with it twin-turbochargers. However, some of you might miss that 6.2-liter V8 from the current model. Performance figures are much better than its predecessor though with a 0 to 60 time of just 4.4 seconds and a top speed of 155mph, however there is an option for an AMG Performance package, which will increase the top speed to 186mph.
Do not expect a lot in the way of fuel-efficiency though, 16mpg city and 21mph highway. There are a number of devices to not only give you a smooth ride, but also a safe one. Some of these include adaptive suspension, which works in conjunction with electrohydraulic sport steering system.
Paul Lienert from Inside Line reports that the upcoming 2012 Mercedes-Benz CLS63 AMG has no pricing details yet, but should know more, as we get closer to the date of production. What do you think of the new AMG do you like the styling?
