We have some exciting rumors to share with Apple fans now, as after just weeks of the iPhone 4S launch, we’re already hearing reports that Apple are planning a major overhaul for not just the next iPhone (5th generation), but for all of Apple’s product lineup.
Just hold on for a second and digest that reality for a minute. Imagine brand new versions of all existing Apple products, all coming with completely new designs that you are used to seeing today – it really is mouthwatering stuff if it turns out to be true.
The rumors have once again surfaced from Digitimes, as a fresh article from them states that suppliers and their sources within the production chain are expecting Apple to overhaul all of their product lineup, which obviously includes devices such as the iPhone, the iPod, the iPad and Macbook Air.
It was just a few days ago when we revealed possible plans for a new ‘next generation’ Macbook Pro or Macbook Air update for 2012, and that it would be the thinnest Macbook ever. Could that story possibly be linked together with this one for a design overhaul for both?
Then of course, prior to the iPhone 4S announcement we had countless rumors suggesting that Apple were going to increase the size of their iPhone display screen to around 4-inches, and that it would be an edge-to-edge screen perhaps even equipped with OLED components.
The report at Digitimes also reveals speculated release date periods for Apple’s next devices, as they believe the iPhone 5 is expected in the second half of 2012, while a new iMac computer will come during the same period. A hardware update to the existing iPad 2 will supposedly happen in the early stages of 2012 before both the new iPhone 5 and iMac arrive, while the true ‘third generation’ iPad model will release towards the end of 2012, much like the way in which Apple revealed and released the iPhone 4S just a few weeks ago.
A lot information to digest there for sure, how true do you think the rumors are? It is common knowledge that Apple like to release a new iPhone every year, so now that we have had the iPhone 4S upgrade hit the stores after the iPhone 4 and before that the iPhone 3G and 3GS, are we now ready to see the next generation iPhone 5 with a complete design overhaul? Give us your thoughts on this.
