A few days ago we brought you the news that some Microsoft employees had admitted to be working on the next Xbox console. Now another game developer has hinted that the Xbox 720 release date will be before the PS4.
Matthew Karch who is Saber Interactive CEO, and is currently working on the Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary was recently speaking to CVG. He was talking about the next generation of consoles and mentioned he would be shocked if the next Xbox didn’t beat the next Sony offering to the table.
Karch claimed not to have any insight but said the next generation of home consoles will be capable of “phenomenal things”. Features such as the AI, physics, crowd technology, as well as the way the games characters bodies are simulated will be improved massively with the next generation of games consoles.
He also feels the new consoles could spawn a new range of smaller licensed games, and adds developers are restricted now by the power of the Xbox 360 and PS3 processors. It is claimed that the team over at Havoc can’t wait to get started with the next gen hardware.
Downloadable games Karch thinks is the way forward because they can be brought to the public with less costs involved. He claims there are a lot of publishers who don’t want to see new consoles, as there are millions of current models out there with owners buying games.
Karch added he thinks the OnLive platform could also be a big player, and thinks the technology could find its way into TVs and set top boxes in the future. Do you think the Xbox 720 will beat the PS4 to the market?
