Battlefield 3: Beta code release time update, early users and jealousy

We have some great news for those of you who have reserved an early spot in the imminent Battlefield 3 beta, as we have an update for those of you who are still waiting for EA to send out emails containing your all important beta code on either on the Xbox 360, PC or PS3.

As most of you should be aware, the Battlefield 3 beta starts today for gamers who have been granted early access by EA, most of whom will be entering via your Medal Of Honor Tier 1 purchase, or by pre-ordering Battlefield 3 on EA’s Origin Store.

If this applies to you and you’re still waiting to get a beta code, listen up as EA’s community manager for Battlefield 3 has revealed that beta codes should be reaching eligible email accounts at around 1-3pm CET (Central European Time). You can read the Tweet below if you need further confirmation:

”Keys will be sent, around 1pm-3pm CET on PC and Xbox 360. Awaiting further messaging on PS3”

Just to make sure, this doesn’t apply to everyone as normal beta access will start on September 29th, this coming Thursday. If you do have early access to the beta, then you will want to know what time these codes will be sent out in your respective area. Those of you on Eastern time in the US, you should be looking for emails from 7am to 9am, Pacific 4am – 6am, Europe 1-3pm and Japan 8-11pm local time.

If you don’t have early access, feel free to bask in a considerable amount of jealousy while you sit back and wait 48 hours while lucky gamers participate in a frag fest on Operation Metro today. We had a brief go at the beta during Eurogamer Expo, and we have to say that gameplay was nothing short of mindblowing – although that was the lead PC platform that we had a go on, hopefully the console beta will be just as much fun!

So there we have it. Have you received your email containing a beta code from EA today or not? We’re interested to hear from PS3 owners especially, since the Tweet from EA above suggests that PS3 gamers may have to wait a little longer.
