Mortal Kombat 9 DLC: Satisfied with ‘final’ Freddy Krueger, or do we need more?

So Freddy Krueger has finally landed on the Xbox 360 and PS3 as the next and possibly final DLC character to be added to the excellent Mortal Kombat fighting game that is racking up countless hours of online play on home consoles.

But the big question that everyone wants to know, is will Freddy Krueger be the final character or does NetherRealm Studios have plans to add even more characters to the game. So far of course, we have had four new characters added to the game as DLC so it definitely feels like they could add more before the end of the year to keep things fresh until Mortal Kombat 10 arrives.

We have spoke about the possibility of characters such as Predator, Leatherface, Michael Myers and Jason being added to the game, but there has been no word on whether any other characters from the Mortal Kombat universe will be arriving next or not. Due to the overwhelming popularity of Kenshi, Scarlet, Rain and Freddy, they could just about introduce anyone next and gamers would still buy it, as NetherRealm Studios seemed to have built the perfect formula of releasing affordable DLC alongside two free character skins.

We’ve been thinking long and hard on who we would like to see in the game, and it’s evident that they are too many possibilities to continue now that NetherRealm Studios have opened up the door of movie-based characters appearing in the game. Imagine someone like Robocop and V from V for Vendetta battling it out, or even Judge Dredd Vs Blade, now that would be a sight to see.

Blade would probably be our favorite choice at the moment, but we’re sure you have better ideas. If you have just bought Mortal Kombat and are hungry for more characters to be added, tell us who you want to see next. A movie-based character or a Mortal Kombat fighter? Give us your best picks. On a side note, if you need Freddy Krueger’s fatality list, you’ll find the moves here.
