Whether you are a fan of golf, basketball, boxing, NASCAR, cycling, Major League Baseball, ice hockey or even American Football, the Apple App Store has plenty of apps that will help iOS users keep up to date with their favorite sports. However, as with all types of applications, it is always nice to know which apps are the most popular.

Ian Paul from the pcworld.com website has recently taken a look at some of the sports applications that are available for iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad-using sports fans, and provided a list containing the top 10. One such app is Tour de France All Access, which enables users to watch every stage of the annual bicycle race on their iOS devices.

The Tour de France All Access app also allows users to keep up to date with stage results, overall standings and all the latest stories and interviews. ESPN’s ScoreCenter XL – which has been optimized for the Apple iPad – is another app worth downloading. The app provides users with reliable scores for various different leagues and sports.

This includes NFL, NBA, NCAA basketball, Formula 1, golf, tennis and cricket. ScoreCenter XL also features video highlights, live play-by-play and live, in-game statistics. Another great app for keeping up-to-date with all the latest sports news is Yahoo! Sportacular. This app will even deliver push notifications to your iOS device to remind you of game starting times etc.

Those of you that own an Apple iPad may even want to consider downloading the Sports Illustrated Magazine app. The app provides users with the ability to buy the latest SI iPad edition each week, as well as previous editions. If you are already a paid subscriber of the printed version of Sports Illustrated Magazine, you will be able to access the iPad edition for free.

Meanwhile, MLB.com At Bat 11 for iPad is the ideal application for Major League Baseball fans. Users can use this app to keep up to date with all the latest baseball standings, schedules, stats, rosters and breaking news. RotoWire.com Fantasy News Center on the other hand is a great app for fantasy sports fans.

Are you a NCAA March Madness fan? If so, you might want to download (if you haven’t already) the NCAA March Madness On Demand app. This app not only enables you to watch every game live on your iOS device, it will also provide you with alerts for your favorite teams. The FOX Sports Mobile app is another great way of keeping updated with all the latest sports news.

The FOX Sports Mobile app will provide you with access to news, videos, stats, scores, team info and standings for a number of different sports including soccer, tennis, golf, NASCAR, boxing and even mixed martial arts. The final two apps on the list are Bleacher Report’s Team Stream and WatchESPN.
