Modern Warfare 3: Ideas on a new killstreak system

If you consider yourself to be a Call of Duty fanatic and Modern Warfare 3 is going to be a day one purchase for you, you’ll know that Infinity Ward has been very quiet on the multiplayer side of the upcoming game so far.

However, we’ve just learned a tidbit of information which is sure to excite a lot of you, as Infinity Ward’s community manager Robert Bowling has revealed that Modern Warfare 3 will feature a brand new killstreaks system, one which will be ‘entirely different’ to the previous killstreak menus seen in Modern Warfare and Modern Warfare 2.

Here is what Bowling said on Twitter when replying to a user about Killstreaks in Modern Warfare 3:

”@Z_Thomp We changed the entire way the killstreak system works. I can’t go into detail yet, but I will share when I can.”

We’re not sure about you, but the idea of a brand new killstreak system is pretty exciting. Could this be a further hint that Infinity Ward are planning to introduce team-based killstreaks as previously rumored? The idea of unlocking certain advantages in game during a game of domination for example could enhance the gameplay further.

A good example of this could be an armored sentry gun placement for a team after meeting certain criteria, one which won’t be easy to take down and will help you to secure a particular point for longer.

Other new killstreak ideas could be limited juggernaut for the entire team after reaching say 50 headshots in a match as a unit, or unlimited ammo for a round to the person who acquires the most kills, headshots, defuses and so on – the possibilites could be endless for Infinity Ward here.

They state that they will reveal this new system soon, so we’re guessing it will come as part of the multiplayer premiere which has to be coming soon. The game is due out in November and we’re yet to see what multiplayer looks like in Modern Warfare 3. Some gamers are skeptical that it will just be a rehashed formula from Modern Warfare 2, so IW definitely has to go all out this time to please some of the ‘haters’ who are not that interested in the new game this year.

Will they include another Nuke-styke reward for 25 kills, or do they have other ideas to reward gamers for racking up the best killstreak in a game. We’re excited to see what this new system entails and if it will be welcomed by gamers or not. Give us your thoughts on possible ideas for the new killstreak system in MW3.
