Possible Verizon iPad 2 recall: Reasons

By Peter Chubb - Jun 10, 2011

We can never believe what we read, but there seems to be compelling evidence that there is something wrong with the Verizon iPad, which could lead to a possible recall. The reasons for this are extensive, which we will endeavour to highlight a few for you. It seems that these tablets are being returned to Apple after being shipped from China.

This is not the first time that there have been issues with the iPad, back in March there were reports of FaceTime problems, and then in April Big Red customers were complaining of 3G issues. However, a little later in April, Apple released iOS 4.3.2 to solve these known issues.

9 to 5 Mac is reporting that a number of complaints have started to appear on Apple Discussions, all unhappy with their Verizon iPad 2 being delayed. Some saying that they were due to receive them soon, only to be told that their tablet will be delayed by three weeks. It seems that this is not an isolated case.

There certainly seems to be a lot of confusion going on, we can see that FedEx is blaming Apple for the problem, and Apple is blaming FedEx – passing the buck seems pretty normal to us. There could be a number of reasons for these being recalled even before they make it to the sender, but the most probable seems to be with the spelling on the engraving; what do you think?
