PS3 not getting Mass Effect 3 voice commands, only Xbox 360

A few days ago we announced that the upcoming Ghost Recon: Future Soldier and Mass Effect 3 games would both have Kinect support and voice control recognition when they are released. This may have left PC and PS3 gamers wondering whether they’d get the voice commands feature too.

We now have some rather disappointing news however, as according to a recent article by Michael Mcwhertor over at, video game developer BioWare has recently announced that the PC and PS3 versions of the Mass Effect 3 game will not be getting voice commands.

Although it may make sense for the developer to add voice control recognition to the PlayStation 3 version of the Mass Effect 3 game via the PlayStation Eye camera or via a USB microphone, BioWare has stated that they are not planning on supporting anything but the Kinect at this stage.

Casey Hudson – the executive producer of Mass Effect – said that the reason BioWare is bringing voice commands to the Kinect for Xbox 360, is because the motion-sensing device is doing the hard work of voice recognition. The Mass Effect 3 game is due to be released on March 6th, 2012.

Do you think the developer should include voice commands in the PS3 version as well as the Xbox 360 version of the Mass Effect 3 game?

That is ridiculous!  PS3 can easily support voice commands, games like Tom Clancy Endwar exist.  Voice Commands can be done through the bluetooth headset. What a croc!
