Nintendo 3DS update, problems coming to Ridge Racer 3D

By Jamie Pert - Jun 7, 2011

A few days ago we posted to you the information regarding the software update coming to the Nintendo 3DS and the list of changes that were being made, yesterday the firmware update arrived and it looks like there is a slight issue with it.

A recent post from Mynintendonews states that there may be problems with Ridge Racer 3D upon updating your console. The update could cause the game to freeze on either the Race Select screen or the Machine Select screen if you press B.

The advice from Nintendo Japan is to hold down the Nintendo 3DS power button in order to reset the console. This will most likely lose any data up to this point that has not been saved and will no doubt be a huge inconvenience to the gamer. However in response to the news of this problem, Nintendo has said that they will be providing a second firmware update which will fix this problem entirely.

So overall there may be some slight hiccups affecting Ridge Racer until Nintendo deal with the problem which they have said may not be until mid-June, we wonder if there are any other games that will be effected by similar problems. Have you heard of any stories about games struggling with the update? Did Ridge Racer 3D freeze for you after the update? Let us know in the comments section below.
