iPad 2 shield in a “Snap” with Belkin: Review

By Gary Johnson - May 27, 2011

When the iPad 2 was released many people liked the look of Apple’s Smart Cover. Owners of devices like the iPad 2 want to protect their precious device and use additional protection, and there are many products for consumers to try. Today we have a review of the iPad 2 Snap Shield from Belkin.

The new Snap Shield from Belkin retails for $30 and is available in clear or smoke finishes reports Nick Guy from iLounge. The shield may not be much different from many other similar products available, but it is a nice take on the idea.

It is a hard plastic shell but with a soft touch rubber finish, and covers all four edges of the device. Openings are nicely cut, but the cut out for the sleep/wake button goes quite close to it without preventing it to be used though. The manufacturer decided to leave the speaker fully exposed, and there is enough room for the Smart Cover.

A small part of the aluminum back remains exposed but not very much to worry about. The Belkin Snap Shield was good enough to get a B rating from the reviewer. Do you use a shield for your iPad 2?
