Sony PS3 Debix Codes for PlayStation Network protection begin

We have a bit of good news for PS3 users still feeling bruised over the PlayStation Network attacks which left a lot of users wondering if their credit card details and other personal information were safe. Sony has now started to distribute activation codes for their promised identity theft protection service.

For those that need reminding, Sony stated a few weeks back that they will be offering a free years subscription to Debix AllClear ID Plus identity theft protection. This offer is available to all US PSN members and also Qriocity members, but only until June 28th when the deal will expire.

If you live in the US, there’s no reason why you shouldn’t try this out, especially if you are still spooked about your card info being in the wrong hands. Make sure you read the full terms and conditions on the Debix website before signing up for this, and you will probably want to cancel this after the 12 months free period expires since it will cost $9.99 a month from there on.

If you’re interested in trying this out, you can obtain your code from the PlayStation website here. Unfortunately, there’s still no word from Sony on when similar identity theft protection services will be available in other regions – we’ll keep you informed on that.

Who is going to sign up for Debix?
