When the debut trailer for Techland’s much anticipated Dead Island game made its way onto the internet back in February, it was met with both praise and criticism. In fact, some critics even described it as a work of art. We’ve seen other brief teaser trailers since then, but none that have contained gameplay footage.
That is until now anyway, as according to Josh Hood over on thesixthaxis.com website, the very first gameplay trailer has now debuted online. The trailer (which comes courtesy of GameTrailers) is over ten minutes long and includes commentary from Vincent Kummer, the brand manager over at Deep Silver.
The trailer – which I have to say looks pretty awesome – shows zombies being run over, shot at and blown up with makeshift sticky bombs. Oh, and it also features some pretty island scenery. Vincent also provides us with a little more insight into the game, its environments, weapons and even the game’s 4-player co-op.
As we mentioned in our previous article, the Dead Island game features a combination of first person action, melee combat, character development, weapon customization and RPG elements. The upcoming game is due to arrive later this year for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Microsoft Windows.
