If you’re a fan of MMOGs and you’ve previously heard of Bigpoint’s web browser-based Ruined game, then I think we have some information that could be of interest to you. The developer has recently issued a press release, announcing that the Ruined MMO game has now entered open beta.

For those of you that haven’t heard of the Ruined title before, it’s a fast-paced, tournament-style third person shooter that is based on the Unity game engine. As John2 at recently noted, the game – which is played through any web browser – features 6 characters and 3 combat arenas.

If you are interested in joining the open beta, then you can sign up via the Ruined game’s official website here. Ruined takes place in wrecked venues that are inspired by some of San Francisco’s well known landmarks, including the famous Golden Gate Bridge.

The game’s combat arenas – which include The Fort, The Bridge and The Prison – enable up to 24 players to battle it out at once, with the aid of a number of weapons such as Lightning and Bubble guns. Players are able to play as any character they want, with each character having their own strengths and weaknesses.

The characters available are Mutant, Samurai, Enforcer, Assassin, Crawler and Mad Medic. Are you interested in signing up for the Ruined open beta?
